Night Vision, as indicated in the above photo on left, uses amplified surrounding ambient light
to see in the dark. Ambient light refers to the existing light from the surrounding area, whether
it be star light, moon light, distant street lights,.....etc. Night Vision equipment amplifies this
light, so you can see in the dark. Sort of like having the eyes of an owl. Thermal Imaging on
the other hand see’s the difference in surrounding ambient temperatures....  i.e. the heat of a
human body is different than the trees, dirt, road, and all other objects..... Thermal imaging
amplifies the long infrared heat into a visual image, as indicated in the above photo on the right.
Notice the men in the bushes with normal view on the left, then with the same view using the
Thermal-Eye. You can clearly see their body heat behind the bushes. See other examples
